Coulthard's Formula One car for sale on "ebay" 21.03.2008

A highly unusual object is up for sale at the moment on ebay – a state-of-the-art Formula One car driven by David Coulthard. The reason for the extraordinary offering is a charity auction on behalf of the "Wings of Life" Foundation set up by ex-Motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner.

Anyone interested in acquiring an object that no one else in the world could possibly own should click on the link www.wingsforlife.com/ebay before Sunday. On offer is nothing less than a genuine Formula One racing car that will be auctioned off for charity in conjunction with the "Wings of Life" Foundation. It is the real Red Bull Racing car that David Coulthard used at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2007.

The idea for this unique auction came from former Motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner, who set up the foundation that is dedicated to research in treatment of spinal cord injury. The Austrian, whose brother and son are both in wheelchairs after sports injuries, has put together a spectacular collection of unique items from Coulthard and other sportsmen as well as from sponsors that will be auctioned off on ebay. Alongside the Formula One car, some of the other one-of-a-kind items include the motorcycle that Cyrill Despres used to win the Paris-Dakar Rally and a wide variety of sports equipment used by Base Jumper Felix Baumgartner, Formula One driver Robert Doornbosch, surf legend Robby Naish and Motocross Freestyler Travis Pastrana.
